what is cbd oil?
CBD oil is extracted from cannabidiol – an organic chemical compound and a type of cannabinoid found naturally within the flowers, stalks and leaves of the hemp plant. The hemp plant, a plant within the cannabis sativa species, contains hundreds of different cannabinoids including CBD.
To clear up a common misconception, our CBD oil does not come from marijuana. Marijuana is another plant found within the cannabis sativa species, but it is entirely different from hemp. Marijuana contains a type of cannabinoid called ‘THC’ which causes users to feel a high.
But as CBD comes from hemp, (which does not contain THC) CBD is non-psychoactive, and will not make you feel high. This means that organically grown CBD oils are among the most popular cannabidiol products due to their non-psychotropic characteristics .

What are the different types of CBD oil?
When shopping on line or searching for CBD, you may have noticed there are a number of different cannabinoid spectrum options available to you.
You will have the choice to buy full-spectrum CBD, broad-spectrum CBD, or CBD isolates.
Although similar sounding these three types of products are substantially different from each other.
So, what does each spectrum tell you about your CBD oil products and how are they different?
We are going to explain the important difference and discuss the pros and cons of each CBD format.
1. What is Full-Spectrum CBD?
Full-spectrum CBD oil which, as a full-spectrum oil, contains CBDV, CBDA, CBG, CBC and terpene as well as CBD (cannabidiol) as the main active ingredient and thus offers the full “entourage effect” .Meaning the full spectrum of the active compounds extracted from hemp work together. These oils have a mild, yet perceptible, grassy hemp taste. The THC content in ULU oils is less than 0.00%.
2. What is Broad Spectrum CBD?
Broad spectrum CBD oil in which all colouring and taste-giving substances (terpenes) get stripped out. They contain predominantly CBD & CBG. These oils are almost tasteless. The THC content in these oils is less than 0.0%. Therefore the grassy taste is less noticable, and some of the entourage effect is retained.
In a very simplified manner, broad-spectrum CBD is like a mix between full-spectrum CBD and CBD isolate. It contains some of the spectrum of cannabinoids without the grassy taste.
3. What is CBD Isolate?
CBD isolate is the purest form of this compound, made by extracting it from its natural environment and removing it from all other ingredients.
The advantage of using CBD isolate over other formats is the highest concentration of CBD per serving. Isolates are usually 99% pure, meaning that one gram of isolate powder carries about 990 mg of CBD. There’s no entourage effect, though — you can benefit solely from the effects of cannabidiol, hence the lower price of such products and lower demand than full-spectrum or broad-spectrum CBD. They are used in many of the flavoured CBD oil products and in food type products.

How long do the effects of CBD Hemp oil last ?
Regardless of the type of cannabidiol product you’ve used, how long you’ve been taking CBD also plays a role in how the CBD effects last.
If you use a single dose of any CBD product, the cannabidiol will only stay in your system for up to around 8 hours and the effects will last about the same amount of time. However, what happens if you’ve been using CBD for a few weeks or even months? How long do CBD effects last in this case?
Well, once again, this depends on your body, your lifestyle and the dose you usually take.

How to take CBD oils sublingually
There is no specific method of consuming CBD Oil. It is just a matter of personal choice regarding how you consume it. You can take it on or under your tongue or with food and drink.
But before taking cannabidiol oil, make sure that you shake the bottle well, and fill the dropper to the level that is required. Put the recommended dose in your mouth and hold it for around 60 seconds.
Do I swallow it?
Once the required time has passed you can swallow any residue that is left in your mouth. This prevents any of your CBD from being wasted. Because some CBD oils can leave a strong taste, some people choose to then take a drink of water to wash down any remaining oil.
Benefits of taking CBD sublingually
The word ‘sublingual’ refers to the large blood vessel found under your tongue. When liquids are placed there, they can cross the thin membrane and enter your bloodstream. The rapid absorption of this method has made this form of CBD dosing the most popular across users.
Many CBD users say that once they are used to it, taking the oil under the tongue is very quick and easy. It requires minimal effort and can be completed in less than a couple of minutes without resorting to any special equipment. The process is also discreet and can be performed at home or work.
